Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As your pastor, it is my responsibility that we all make it to Heaven. And I do not take this responsibility lightly. Early on this year, on January 1st, we began 33 days preparation to consecrate ourselves to the Eucharist by using the first ever Eucharistic consecration guide ,33 Days to Eucharistic Glory. The opening paragraph of the front cover of the book reads that: “[t]his consecration is an invitation to dedicate [ourselves] to God and make [ourselves] 100 percent available to carry out His will on this earth. It is an act of unconditional surrender to Jesus in the Eucharist, an opportunity to set aside our distractions and selfishness, dedicate ourselves abundantly, wholeheartedly, and completely to the will of God, and promise to faithfully respond to God’s grace in our life.”
For the past 33 days we have come to rediscover what it means to be pilgrims in a world full of distractions that is constantly trying to reduce us as tourist and consumers. We journeyed together with the Blessed Virgin Mary the Mother of God and our mother, Mother Teresa, John Paul II, Thérèse of Lisieux, Maximilian Kolbe, Thomas Aquinas, Sister Faustina, and the Children of Fatima, to deepen our relationship with God through the Eucharist. We strived each day to grow in a particular virtue, and experienced spiritual communion with God daily.
Now, it is time to consecrate ourselves to the Eucharist. We will do this together as a Parish Community this Sunday at the 10:00am and 11:30am Masses. There will be a procession with the Blessed Sacrament around the Church after the 11:30am Mass. As a final preparation before this consecration on Sunday, I recommend going to Confession. As a reminder, Confessions at St. Cyprian are offered on Fridays from 6:30pm-7:30pm; on Saturdays from 4:00pm-4:55pm; and on Sundays from 9:30am-9:55am.
May God bless you all abundantly,
Fr. Robain
